Job Description: Maintenance Engineers, State DOT, are a specialized branch of civil engineering.  Maintenance engineers work in conjunction with urban planners and other engineers in traffic management and transportation to look after the state of our highways.

Job Description: Maintenance Engineer, Asst. State DOT is a supervisory and technical position working under the general direction of the Highway Engineer responsible for assisting in performing engineering work relating to highway system planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance activities for county highways, bridges, culverts, and other appurtenances on the county road system; supervises highway maintenance, construction and related projects.

Job Description: Maintenance Engineers, District, are responsible for the development, management, integration and implementation of a wide variety of functions, programs, plans and staff engaged in the engineering design of all DWP infrastructure & facilities; including, but not limited to, facilities evaluation, capital improvements, development plan review and coordination, construction contract administration, oversight of design consultants, engineering budgets and managing engineering staff; coordinates all engineering related services with DWP Operations & Maintenance staff, other departments, committees, agencies, development community and public officials.

Job Description: Maintenance Engineers, Bridge focus their work on directing the city-wide bridge inspection, maintenance and repair program and the operation of bridges. Maintenance engineers, bridge are responsible for planning the overall inspection, maintenance and repair program for City-owned bridges and recommending priorities for contracted repair work.

Job Description: A Highway Maintenance Engineer is responsible for determining cost-effect preventive maintenance treatments, upgrade, and repair strategies to maintain highways, bridges and roadside facilities within an assigned area of operation.

Job Description: Engineering Technicians read and review project drawings and plans to determine the sizes of structures, observe project sites and evaluate contractors’ work to detect problems with a design, and help to ensure that project construction conforms to design specifications and applicable codes.
