How do we champion women and people of color in the transportation workforce? What opportunities and barriers exist?Recognizing that fewer than 15% of the 15 million jobs in transportation are held by women, researchers with the Center for Urban Transportation Research (University of South Florida), the Mineta Transportation Institute (San José State University), Tennessee State University, and the Southeast Transportation Workforce Center (University of Memphis), partnered with ITS America, WTS, The Ray, and MobilityXX to conduct a national survey to ask people about their experience in the transportation sector. This survey asks how organizations are promoting diversity, career advancement, and other opportunities to understand how we can grow diversity in the transportation workforce.
