Senior Traffic Engineers supervise the activities of assigned engineering and administrative staff and oversee the design of signing and striping, traffic control, traffic signal timing, traffic signal and intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and the preparation of project reports, plans, specifications, estimates, grant applications, progress reports, and other technical documents. Senior Engineers also perform traffic and transportation research, analysis, planning, and design. This position includes monitoring the work of consultants/contractors performing traffic/transportation engineering, preparing or assisting in the preparation of division budgets, and making presentations to various stakeholders.
Master's degree preferred; bachelor's degree required
Senior Project Manager
A Senior Project Manager is responsible for the quality of civil engineering work performed, client service, utilization of staff, marketing, reputation of the office, contract management, billing collection, and project profitability for roadway engineering projects. Project Managers also plan, direct, and coordinate activities of transportation projects to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. This position also entails establishing work plans and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel, and directing and coordinating activities of Project Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Also, Senior Project Managers oversee work involving the preparation of roadway and highway planning and design using local (State, County or City) standards at both conceptual and final design levels. Finally, Senior Project Managers represent their organizations as representatives at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects. Finally, a Senior Project Manager assures that project team complies with the contract agreement as well as exercises rigid cost control to implement the approved design within established budget restraints.
Senior Engineer (Transit)
A Senior Transit Engineer provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise, which involves developing study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others. Senior Transit Engineers also participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables including construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects. In addition, Senior Transit Engineers use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package. They typically perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings and prepare technical specification sections. Lastly, Senior Transit Engineers provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
CIS Manager
Computer & Information Systems Managers are responsible for effectively setting and managing the overall information technology agenda for a company or organization. These professionals oversee all computer systems and network architecture, and may also be responsible for system security protocols.
Other responsibilities typically include:
- Promoting technical implementation at the architecture level, implementing technical solutions, and providing technical support to other users.
- Performing security testing and assessment, developing mitigation plans, and documenting results.
- Assessing, reporting on, and communicating risk and vulnerabilities in computer system architecture.
