The National Network for the Transportation Workforce (NNTW) is one of three organizations co-sponsoring a Career Pathways webinar series hosted by the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Standing Committee on Education and Training. The five-part series, “Career Pathways: Building & Advancing a Sustainable Workforce,” is also sponsored by the National Transportation Training Directors (NTTD) and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), and will address key elements necessary to creating viable career pathways for incumbent and future transportation professionals, such as:

  • Organizational change in academia and the workplace;
  • Knowledge management;
  • Creating cultures of innovation in academia and the workplace;
  • Advanced technology; and
  • Leveraging training resources for entry level and incumbent workers.

The webinar series begins on February 16, and the first installment is titled “Extending Learning Beyond your Transportation Department.” This webinar, which is sponsored by NTTD, will provide a course of action dedicated to closing the learning gap in webinar attendees’ enterprises through managing and extending the learning supply chain, achievement versus activity, and consumerization of learning.

In addition to February’s webinar, the series continues with the additional four installments in April, July, October, and December of 2017. The NNTW will sponsor the April webinar titled “Knowledge Management Essentials for Success” and the July webinar titled “Talent Cultivation & Management.” APTA will sponsor the October webinar named “Advanced Technologies: New Workforce Demand and Expectations,” and the final webinar of the series is titled “Best Practices and Case Studies on Leveraging Training Resources” and will be sponsored by NTTD.
