Advanced Technologies and the Impact on Transportation Industries: A Workforce Conversation
On Monday, December 18, 2017, APTA, in partnership with the TRB Standing Committee on Education and Training and the National Network for the Transportation Workforce, conducted the internationally received webinar, “Advanced Technologies and the Impact on Transportation Industries: A Workforce Conversation."
The webinar featured a panel of industry experts from across the U.S., including, Mr. Ferdinand Risco, Assistant Executive Director, TARC; Vice Chair, APTA Workforce Development Committee; Dr. Tom O'Brien, Executive Director, Center for International Trade and Transportation (CITT), CSULB; Director, Southwest Transportation Workforce Center (SWTWC); Ms. Leticia Barajas, Vice President of Pathway Innovation & Institutional Effectiveness, Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC); Mr. Mike Loehr, Global Practice Leader, Transit and Rail, Track and Civil, CH2M; Chair, APTA BMBG Workforce Development Committee; and Ms. Joanne Peterson, Chief Human Capital and Development Officer, LA Metro.
The webinar focused on the broader industry perspective, educational research, educational applications and partnerships, needs and gaps within the public and private sector, and current industry practices.
